Daniel 6:3-5 KJV
[3] Then this Daniel was preferred above the presidents and princes, because an excellent spirit was in him; and the king thought to set him over the whole realm. [4] Then the presidents and princes sought to find occasion against Daniel concerning the kingdom; but they could find none occasion nor fault; forasmuch as he was faithful, neither was there any error or fault found in him. [5] Then said these men, We shall not find any occasion against this Daniel, except we find it against him concerning the law of his God.
It is true that a born again believer has a work ethic and wisdom superior to non-believers, or at least, we should. Daniel worked as unto the Lord. He was not the guy, who did just enough to get by. No, he was the guy who gave 100% to his job, while he lived 100% for GOD.
Everybody knew that he was faithful and true. Matthew 5:14-15 tells us we are to be a light. Daniel’s righteous living was not a show he put on to go to temple. His work and life was above reproach, the way he treated others, in the workplace, left no room for knit picking. He was a good guy, dependable, careful and honorable. The only troubles he had were that people around him were envious and wanted him to mess up. The spirit of excellence provided him with the wisdom needed to avoid traps and tricks, of those seeking to discredit him.
Attacking Daniel’s faithful practices for GOD was their only hope for discrediting him. We can see this same evil spirit, at work, today. If you have been faithful there is little restraint on those who will lie and make false accusations. However, GOD honors those who honor Him.
Psalm 112:1-10 KJV
[1] Praise ye the Lord. Blessed is the man that feareth the Lord, that delighteth greatly in his commandments. [2] His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessed. [3] Wealth and riches shall be in his house: and his righteousness endureth for ever. [4] Unto the upright there ariseth light in the darkness: he is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous. [5] A good man sheweth favour, and lendeth: he will guide his affairs with discretion. [6] Surely he shall not be moved for ever: the righteous shall be in everlasting remembrance. [7] He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the Lord. [8] His heart is established, he shall not be afraid, until he see his desire upon his enemies. [9] He hath dispersed, he hath given to the poor; his righteousness endureth for ever; his horn shall be exalted with honour. [10] The wicked shall see it, and be grieved; he shall gnash with his teeth, and melt away: the desire of the wicked shall perish.
