The Narrow Way

Matthew 7:14 KJV “Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.”.

It ties in quite nicely with the chapter I have memorized.

The discussion was that many people think they are going the right direction toward God. The problem is that they miss the gate. They are with the crowd and following the flow. They have this easy believing and prosper gospel but it leads right past the narrow gate. Though the way through Jesus is simple, it is far from easy.

We can fool others, we can even fool ourselves but we cannot fool God.

Hebrews 4:13 KJV "Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do." How is it obvious in my life?

There are many people who claim to be Christ followers, yet, they live their live as though God's perfect holiness cannot see what they are about. Think about this, The pure and holy Creator of the universe has his eyes on us. We do not determine how and what He accepts. He has said, “who ever believes in His only begotten Son.” That means there is no other way, no other path. Yes, it is very narrow and it requires us to sacrifice. Have you ever said, “that’s too much to give for God?”

Be careful and question everything. Satan uses just enough truth to cause us to stumble. People pray to Lucifer and Satanism is rampant in our country. He sells success, fame and fortune. He delivers emptiness, darkness and death.

Jesus promises the path will be lonely, challenging and seem unrewarding. He delivers direction, truth and joy. Jesus’ forgiveness creates a thankfulness in us that helps us be content.

He is watching me, He can see my thoughts and He knows when I desire something more than being with Him. Holiness is calling me to be holy. Calling me to think about how I will live more pure because Jesus has begun the work in me to live with God. Calling me to shed my worldly desires for those things that fill my mind with praise and adoration for Him. How is He calling you?
